Intro to Card Breaks

Card breaks are a great way to buy into products and target the players or teams you want, without having to purchase an entire box or case. When you buy into a break, you are generally paying a fixed or dynamic price for cards from the team or player you purchased.  When the break fills up, breakers will then live stream, on Youtube or a similar platform, opening the case or boxes for that break. They will then pack and ship cards by team or player, and send them to whoever purchased that spot. Card breaks can be a great source of entertainment, community, and a resource to collectors looking to build their collection.  Card break styles range from formats like case breaks, mixers, random teams, pick your your team, pay one get one, and many more. Now if you have no idea what any of these terms mean, we are here to break it down for you! At Hi-5 Collectibles we specialize in mixers and case breaks, and generally use the pick your team and random team model:

Case Break: A card break that consists of a portion or the entirety of the case for one product.

Mixer: Generally a break that consists of a mixture of boxes, from the same sport, and same year.

Random Teams: A break where there is a fixed price per spot.  Each spot is then randomized and assigned to a team. This format also allows for some of the better teams to be held back and randomized as bonus teams at the end of the selection process.

Pick Your Team: A pricing format where each team is priced individually, based on the desirability of the checklist for that product.

Pay One Get One: Another fixed price format, where spot prices are fixed, and you are given an additional team as well.

As you can see, breaking can have a language all of its own.  So please, take a minute to check out our break options, and see if anything strikes your fancy.  Once you purchase a spot, you will get a receipt and communication regarding the time of the break.  When a break is filled, we will go live on Youtube @Hi5Comics within 24 hours to open the products, and that’s when the fun begins!
